5 Amazingly Useful Chrome Extensions You Can't Live Without!

5 Amazingly Useful Chrome Extensions You Can't Live Without!

Black Google Smartphone on Box
Now for various reasons such as being lazy, not being well-organized, or just not having a good concentration span, we end up being not so efficient at your work. So let’s check out some google chrome extensions that can really help us up our game at our workplace. Here I would like to add that even though Google puts in a lot of efforts to ensure our online safety, some google chrome extensions can be very dangerous for our devices.so let’s get started now!

Crio

So the 1st extension on our list is one that we use here at Fossbytes as well, it’s called Crio. It’s basically a tool to correct spellings, grammar, style etc. Its a Stanford AI Project, which makes it quite trustworthy and safe for me. And I know, I know, Grammarly is the more popular option out there, but you know what makes Crio better? It’s absolutely free. The main purpose of this tool is to help you write grammatically correct emails but you can also use this tool to proof read your articles and remove all the unnecessary and unwanted grammar and spelling mistakes. It is currently enabled in Gmail, Outlook.com, Yahoo Mail, and Medium. For everywhere else you need to click on it’s icon here and paste the write up on this extension editor. You can also just go to their site and then use their editor as your main text editor as it has all the usual options to format your text. So go ahead, use this extension to stay safe from the grammar Nazis out there.

HabitLab

Moving onto the 2nd extension, HabitLab. This, I believe, should be on everyone’s list because almost all of us are glues to websites like Facebook, YouTube and Netflix. How do you hope to be productive if you spend half your days on these sites? To understand better, HabitLab kinda has the same function as Digital Wellbeing in Android. So what it does is, it makes you pick the sites that make you waste a lot of time and then it uses some predefined nudges, which are supposed to help you spend as less time as possible, on these sites. For example, I watch YouTube day and night, so I took HabitLab’s help to get me out of this habit. Out of the many nudges available, I choose it to prompt the time that I’ve been on the site and I’ve have also let it remove the suggestions. And it even makes me think twice before starting a video. HabitLab lets you review your progress report and the effectiveness of the nudges that you’ve been using through these graphs. It is again an open source project from Stanford which means its pretty reliable. It’s a scientifically proven fact that soothing music has the capability of increasing a person’s productivity. Now there are many theories related to this, but we won’t go into that.

Noisli

Noisli, our next chrome extension, provides you with the option of listening to some super soothing sounds while working. It has some very interesting options such as the sounds of leaves, train, birds etc. You can make up different combos from all these available sounds and then set up the timer for the sound to be played. This technique personally helps me with my practically non-existent concentration span. Why don’t you guys give it a shot and tell me how it works for you? Also do let me know if you know some similar google chrome extension that I must try. Now I’m sure most of you all must be aware of how Bitcoin has taken over the digital world of money! So there are coin miners all around the world who illegally mine this digital currency by hacking into others computers and using their processor’s power! A popular way to do this is embedding crypto mining code in websites. Recently some big sites such as The Pirate Bay and Showtime Anytime were caught doing the same.

No Coin

No Coin is a chrome extension which provides a safe and secure way to ensure that coin miners don’t use your CPU’s power without your consent. It’s an open source project under MIT license.

Panda 5

Next up is Panda 5 and this has become one of my favorites! Now its a well known fact that people with better knowledge banks, especially in their field of work, find it easier to impress other and hold good conversation. Panda 5 is a great extension to keep you up-to-date regarding all the topics of your interest and need. Use this extension and choose the topics accordingly. Panda 5 will then create a superb dashboard for you with all the relevant news from all the relevant sources stacked up right in one place. How convenient is that? Speaking of convenience, there’s another great point about Panda 5. It automatically becomes your default page on your new tab and it also lets you choose the kind of homepage that you want. Simply press the new tab button and you’ll have all the knowledge at your disposal. Allow me to take 2 mins to further explore its features. So you can choose to read the articles right here instead of opening them in different tabs. It also has a dark mode to ensure you don’t strain your eyes at night.
